ഒരേ ക്രിയ, രണ്ടു കാലം: ഇന്നലെ ഞാൻ പോയി — ഭൂതകാലം; ഇപ്പോൾ ഞാൻ പോകുന്നു — വർത്തമാനകാലം. -ഇ അല്ലെങ്കിൽ -ഉ ഭൂതകാലം, -ഉന്നു വർത്തമാനകാലം.
You have just spent five lessons in the past. Now put the two side by side: ഇന്നലെ ഞാൻ പോയി (yesterday I went) against ഇപ്പോൾ ഞാൻ പോകുന്നു (now I am going). The -ഉന്നു ending you learned in level 2 is the present; the past ends in -ഇ or -ഉ. Nothing else in the sentence changes.
ഇവിടെയും ക്രിയ ഒന്നുതന്നെ: ഞാൻ വരുന്നു · നീ വരുന്നു · അവൻ വരുന്നു · അവൾ വരുന്നു · അവർ വരുന്നു. ആൾ, എണ്ണം, ലിംഗം — ഒന്നും ക്രിയയിൽ കാണില്ല. അതുകൊണ്ട് കർത്താവ് പറയണം.
And here too the verb is one single form: ഞാൻ വരുന്നു, നീ വരുന്നു, അവൻ വരുന്നു, അവൾ വരുന്നു, അവർ വരുന്നു. Malayalam never marks person, number or gender on a verb — which is exactly why you must name the subject, in the present as much as in the past.
ഇപ്പോൾ, ഉടനെ, വീണ്ടും — ഈ കാലപദങ്ങൾക്ക് വിഭക്തി ഇല്ല. അവ സാധാരണ ക്രിയയ്ക്കു മുൻപിൽ വരുന്നു: ഞാൻ ഉടനെ വരുന്നു. 'ഞാൻ ഇപ്പോൾ വരുന്നു' എന്ന വാക്യത്തിന് 'ഞാൻ ഉടനെ വരുന്നു' എന്നു തന്നെ അർഥം.
ഇപ്പോൾ (now), ഉടനെ (at once, in a moment) and വീണ്ടും (again) are bare time words: they take no case ending, exactly like രാവിലെ and ഇന്നലെ, and they usually sit just before the verb. One idiom to keep: ഞാൻ ഇപ്പോൾ വരുന്നു is how Malayalam says 'I'll be right there' — a present form doing the work of an immediate future.

Say three sentences out loud about yourself. One about yesterday — ഇന്നലെ ഞാൻ … പോയി. One about this moment — ഇപ്പോൾ ഞാൻ … പഠിക്കുന്നു. One about what happens in a minute — ഞാൻ ഉടനെ … . Then say the last one again with വീണ്ടും in it, and notice that the verb itself never moved.
