Explanation
The genitive has two shapes, and the word itself tells you which one it wants. A word ending in the chillu Everything else — words in ൾ and ർ, and the vowel-final words of last lesson — takes -ഉടെ: അവൾ → അവളുടെ, അവർ → അവരുടെ, നിങ്ങൾ → നിങ്ങളുടെ, ഞങ്ങൾ → ഞങ്ങളുടെ. Two irregulars to keep: നമ്മൾ → നമ്മുടെ, and അത് → അതിന്റെ.
The ന്റ in അവന്റെ is a single ligature made of three keystrokes: ന, then the candrakkala, then റ. Type it in that order and the shape appears on its own. It is not ന plus ട, though it can look that way at small sizes, and its sound is closer to English 'nd' than to anything with an r in it. You have been writing it since lesson one, in എന്റെ and നിന്റെ — the same ligature, the same three keys.
Line up the three forms you now own and say them in a row: അവൻ വരുന്നു, he comes · ഞാൻ അവന് പണം കൊടുക്കുന്നു, I give money to him · ഇത് അവന്റെ ബാഗ്, this is his bag. Three endings, three jobs, one pronoun. And remember the split you met in lesson 1.10: നമ്മുടെ വീട് is our house counting you in, ഞങ്ങളുടെ വീട് is our house leaving you out. Malayalam speakers hear the difference at once, so choose on purpose.

Pick up six things around you and give each one an owner out loud: Then drill the trio three times — അവൻ · അവന് · അവന്റെ — and write the three by hand once. Say them for അവൾ as well: അവൾ · അവൾക്ക് · അവളുടെ.
