വിശദീകരണം · Explanation

'ഞാൻ നടക്കുന്നു' — ഇത് walk. 'ക്ലാസ് നടക്കുന്നു' — ഇത് the class is going on. ഒരേ രൂപം, വേറെ ജോലി. ആൾ ആണോ കാര്യം ആണോ — അതു നോക്കുക.

നടക്കുക does two jobs with one form. With a person it is 'to walk': ഞാൻ നടക്കുന്നു. With an event it is 'to take place, to be going on': ക്ലാസ് നടക്കുന്നു, the class is in progress. Nothing in the verb changes — you tell them apart by what stands in front of it. അവിടെ എന്ത് നടക്കുന്നു? is the ordinary Malayalam for 'what is happening over there?'.

'കളിക്കുക' — പഠിക്കുക, കുടിക്കുക പോലെ ഇരട്ട 'ക്ക' ഉള്ള വാക്ക്: കളിക്കുന്നു. 'ഓടുക' വേറെ: ഇരട്ടിപ്പ് ഇല്ല, ഓടുന്നു. 'നടക്കുക' ഇരട്ടിപ്പ് ഉള്ള കൂട്ടത്തിൽ: നടക്കുന്നു.

കളിക്കുക belongs with പഠിക്കുക and കുടിക്കുക — the verbs with a doubled ക്ക, which keep the doubling in the present: കളിക്കുന്നു, നടക്കുന്നു. ഓടുക has no doubling, so it is simply ഓടുന്നു. Level 10 gives these two families their names; for now just notice which verbs have the ക്ക and keep it.

'ഞങ്ങൾ പന്ത് കളിക്കുന്നു.' — കളി പേരെടുത്തു പറയുന്നു, പിന്നെ 'കളിക്കുന്നു'. പന്ത്, കളിക്കുന്നു; സിനിമ, കാണുന്നു; പാട്ട്, കേൾക്കുന്നു — ഒരേ ക്രമം.

Name the game bare in front of the verb, exactly as you named the song and the film last lesson: ഞങ്ങൾ പന്ത് കളിക്കുന്നു. And notice ഞാനും വരുന്നു in the dialogue — ഞാൻ plus -ഉം, 'me too', with the chillu ൻ softening to ന before the vowel, just as in ദേവനാണ്.
