വിശദീകരണം · Explanation

'രാവിലെ' ഒരു സമയവാക്ക്. ഇംഗ്ലീഷിൽ in the morning — മൂന്നു വാക്ക്. മലയാളത്തിൽ 'രാവിലെ' മാത്രം, വാൽ ഒന്നും ചേരുന്നില്ല: 'ഞാൻ രാവിലെ എഴുന്നേൽക്കുന്നു.'

രാവിലെ is a ready-made time word. English needs a preposition — in the morning — but Malayalam attaches nothing at all to രാവിലെ: it simply stands in the sentence as it is. It usually comes early, right after the subject: ഞാൻ രാവിലെ എഴുന്നേൽക്കുന്നു. Starting the sentence with it, രാവിലെ ഞാൻ എഴുന്നേൽക്കുന്നു, is equally good and puts a little weight on the time.

ഒരു ദിനചര്യ പറയുക: ചെറിയ വാക്യങ്ങൾ, ഒരു വാക്യം ഒരു ക്രിയ. 'ഞാൻ എഴുന്നേൽക്കുന്നു. ഞാൻ മുഖം കഴുകുന്നു. ഞാൻ പല്ല് തേക്കുന്നു.'

To tell a routine at this stage, just line up short sentences, one verb each, in the order things happen. You do not yet need a word for 'then' — the order of the sentences does that work. Notice the shape of each one: subject, then the thing acted on, then the verb at the very end. ഞാൻ മുഖം കഴുകുന്നു is literally 'I face wash'.

'കഴുകുക' — വെള്ളം ഉപയോഗിക്കുന്നു: മുഖം കഴുകുന്നു, പാത്രം കഴുകുന്നു. പല്ല് വേറെ: 'പല്ല് തേക്കുന്നു.'

കഴുകുക is washing with water — മുഖം കഴുകുന്നു, and later പാത്രം കഴുകുന്നു for dishes. Teeth, though, take their own verb: Malayalam brushes them with തേക്കുക, so the set phrase is പല്ല് തേക്കുന്നു. Learn the two together and you will never say the wrong one.
